Trip to Mcleodganj Dharamshala

I still cherish my awesome trip to Dharamshala and Mcleodganj, all thanks to the luxurious facilities and warm hospitality provided by Hotel Asian Plaza to us. I along with my 3 friends planned to go to Dharamshala . We took the bus from Chandigarh sector 43 around 12 o’clock to Dharamhsala via Kangra. The journey was little hectic but when we crossed Chintpurni , we were able to see the beautiful snow capped peaks of Dhauladhar ranges and all our tiredness just vanished away.

And now the view was breathtaking and very scrumptious. I especially became so impatient that when would we reach Dharamshala, that finally I asked the bus conductor that how long would it take to reach beautiful Dharamshala, and he said two hours more. And we just started to enjoy the view and in no time we made it to Mcleodganj.

Our hotel Asian Plaza was just 100 meters from bus stand, in the heart of Mcleodganj. By the time we reached Mcleodganj it had already started to grow little dark and people were switching on the lights, and mcleodganj was looking beautiful especially the main square view from our hotel Asian plaza was out of this world. And the words from two of my friends Abhi and Harman were fu….. awesome! And Ketan, my other friend was like, wasn’t I saying that this is best place in Dharamshala.

Hotel Asian plaza gave us very nice rooms. We were warmly greeted by the staff, and were escorted to our room. Rooms were really beautiful and really worth the money and we felt like we got the best deal ,that is best budget hotel in Dharamshala, I would recommend you to stay in this Hotel and enjoy the Mcleodganj. By the time we ordered 4 cup of masala tea . We freshened up, relished our tea and left our hotel . We strolled through Mcleodganj market for an hour. If you are a foodie, then you are at a right place because Mcleodganj has plethora of delicacies to offer. We found really great Italian, Mexican, Chinese, Tibetan foods and we loved it. There are many fancy restaurants with world class food and satisfaction.

We enjoyed local Himachal wines which were awesome , really !! If you ever happen to visit Dharamshala do taste these wines. We became high and were enjoying a lot. And we enjoyed visiting many shops selling unique Tibetan products, stones, clothes. We also went to the Bhagsunag Waterfalls, which was amazing.

After that we were back to our Hotel and we decided to have dinner at roof-top restaurant of our hotel Asian Plaza. We went to roof-top restaurant and ordered our meal . In the mean time we enquired about the places to visit in Dharamshala . And the hotel guys told us that we could go to Naddi, Dharamkot, Triund, Indrunag, Kunal Pathri, Tea Gardens, Monastries, Cricket Stadium etc.

We had our dinner and just went to our cozy beds in our rooms and decided to sleep , so that we could get up early in the morning to visit many beautiful places in Mcleodganj and Dharamshala.

Next day, we got up early in the morning , had our breakfast at the roof top and enjoyed the view of snow capped dhauladhar ranges . The we asked our hotel people how to visit these places, then they told us that they could arrange the taxi or we could hire bikes on rent. We decided to hire bikes. Our hotel people asked us whether we want to stay in dharamshala or mcleodganj toda. We told them to make arrangements at the hotel at dharamshala. So they made the arrangements to transport our luggage to the hotel.

We started our journey to visit as many tourist places at Dharamshala as we could on our enfield bullets. We started with Bhagsunag Temple. Visited the temple , got blessings from Bhagsu Devta and headed towards Bhagsu waterfall. It is just 2km from Mcleodganj and the scenic view from the road is awesome.  We halted there at the fall , then had some refreshment at Shiva café and enjoyed the music for about an hour.

Then we came back to Mcleodganj , visited the monastery. Then we asked for the directions towards Dharamshala. So the locals told us there are two ways on 9 km and other just 3 kms. But the one with 3 Kms has very steep inclination and the locals told us to avoid it. Because the 12 km was long but had picturesque view and we could also cover St John Church built in 1852. After having a long photo session at this place amid the cedar trees we headed towards our next place to visit at Dharamshala that is temple Kunal Pathri.

We reached dharamshala kotwali bazaar and again asked locals for the directions and how far is it . They told us its just 2-3 Kms. So we carried forward and made our ways through tea gardens. I can’t explain you the beauty of the place. It was f…… AWESOME! Beautiful Tea Gardens amid cedar and pine trees. And there were these beautiful red trees beautifully blended with the green tea gardens as if god went beyond of his imagination to paint this place. We had lot and lot of photos there. I wished to the God to bring the time to stand still as none of wanted to go from there.

But keeping in mind the no. of places left we started our bikes and rode towards Kunal Pathri Temple, the temple of Goddess Kapaleshwari located in the foothills of dhauladhar ranges. Its being stated that Daksh Prajapati, the father of Sati(wife Of Lord Shiva) once organized Yajna in which he didn’t invite Lord Shiva. So in retaliation to the disrespect given to Lord Shiva by his father, she jumped into the fire of Yajna. After seeing the body of her dead wife, Lord Shiva became angry and started to roam in the universe with the body of Sati on her back . Whole universe came to stand still . Seeing this Lord Vishnu came to rescue him as well others . He used his Sudarshan Chakra to Destroy Sati’s Body. So one part of the body i.e skull fell at this place.

We visited the temple , took blessings and headed towards Cricket Stadium on our bikes back through those beautiful tea gardens
